The Student Research Unit organized and conducted a three day Research Process Workshop from the 11 to 13 September 2017 encouraging a language of research among student nurses in College of Nursing-Jeddah. The aim of the workshop was to encourage active participation of students. Many research objectives were covered during the three days enabling students to identify a research problem, formulate research questions and research hypothesis.Furthermore, students were able to recognize tips for reviewing of the literature by the end of the first day of the workshop. By the end of the second day, students were able to apply research methodologies on their selected research topics. By the end of the third day, students were able to utilize the KAIMRC template for a research proposal considering ethical and legal issues.
Nineteen students registered for the workshop. By the end of the three days, 7 groups of students (2-3 students /group) selected 7 research topics. All groups commenced writing the first draft of their research proposal. The research process workshop was very beneficial based on students’ evaluation using the evaluation form that was developed by the college Quality Unit.
