Canadian Visits



On March 22, 2017, the college of nursing –Jeddah was honored by a visit of each of the following Canadian delegates:

  • Dr. Cynthia Baker, Executive Director of the Canadian Association of School of Nursing, Currently also a Professor at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.
  • Dr. Patricia Bradlly, Associate Professor of Nursing at New York University, Toronto Canada School of Nursing.
  • Jessica Pearce, Communication Officer at CASN. Coordinator for Canadian Certified Nurse Education Program. 

The visit was organized by the office of the Dean, Dr. Tagwa Omer, who welcomed them and briefed them about the programs offered at CON-J.

Present were the Associate Dean, Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Hend, the Chairperson of Nursing Department,  Dr. Houiada Helal, in addition to some faculty representatives. The meeting was planned for three hours’ during which the following topics have been discussed: undergraduate and postgraduate curriculums, Internship year program, accreditation and Quality assurance and improvement, research, and community service. Both sides exchanged views in relation to the aforementioned topics and major commonalities and differences were identified and emphasized. 

Toward the end of the visit, the visitors were accompanied by the dean on a tour to CON-J simulation lab, and then were invited for a light lunch. 

This visit/meeting is an indication that CON-J is keen to communicate with nursing experts at the global level to keep abreast of new teaching/learning and practice strategies.
