Biography

Dr. Lamyaa Alyaba, Ph.D., RN, is a full-time Assistant Professor of Oncology and Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs in the College of Nursing- Jeddah. Dr. Lamyaa received her degrees: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from the Female College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (Clinical Nurse Specialist) from George Mason University, and Doctor of Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago. In addition to her degrees, Dr. Lamyaa obtained specialty certification in each specialty area. Dr. Lamyaa has many years of clinical nursing experience in various specialties, including medical-surgical, Critical care, Oncology, and palliative nursing. She also held several leadership positions (assistant nurse manager and nurse manager) before changing her career to the academic field. As an academician, she taught undergraduate and graduate nursing students various courses. In addition to her teaching role, Dr. Lamyaa is an active member of several regional and institutional committees. She also established the application for the internship program at the College of Nursing Jeddah campus. Dr. Lamyaa is a member of several national and international associations, including the Saudi Nursing Association, Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society (Beta Zeta at-Large Chapter then Alpha Beta Chapter), American Nurses Association (ANA), International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL).
