Gulf Nursing Day (GND )2021 Report

Gulf Nursing Day, 2021: “Nurses: A Voice to Lead: A Vision for Future Healthcare”.

Under the auspice of the dean Dr/ Hend Al Najjar, College of Nursing –Jeddah Celebrated with Gulf Nursing Day on Thursday 18th March, 2021 with the organization of Alumni Relations Unit.

The event theme was “Nurses: A Voice to Lead: A Vision for Future Healthcare”. The aim of the event is for shedding light on the achievements accomplished of nurses and efforts exerted in the nursing field and upgrading the profession of nursing in the different health establishments of the country. With the participation of more than 210 people including external visitors, college graduates, hospital representative, nursing students in addition to CONJ community.

Many hospitals were participated in career opportunities and advancement corners including: King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Security Forces Hospital – Makkah, International Medical Centre, Jeddah Dialysis Center. The celebration program started with introduction about Gulf Nursing Day and the main goal of this celebration presented by Alumni Unit Coordinator Dr Ebtsam Abou Hashish, followed by the college dean’s speech Dr/ Hend about the unique role of nurses in Saudi Arabia and the importance of celebration of nurse’ contributions s in all nursing fields.


Then the program continued with many valuable presentations of CON-J graduate MS Rawan Ghasgari who participated as speaker to share her experience as professional nurse with presentation about " Role transition: from student to professional nurse". Followed by the presentation of Prof. Ronald L. Hickman, Associate Dean for Research, Center for Research and Scholarship, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Case Western Reserve University as speakers to share the experience and stressors of nurses during COVID-19.

Lastly a panel discussion with representative nursing deans and directors of hospitals discussed the Saudi nurses: between challenges and opportunities: Tips for career development and Nursing Role in Achieving The 2030 Vision in Saudi Arabia. It was a very interesting and interactive discussion with the attendees.

Many more, master students and undergraduate students of different nursing courses participated in the celebration by presenting their nursing specialties and related career tips and opportunities for advancement and how to write a good curriculum vitae (CV). Also, college units such as; Community service unit, quality unit, research unit, Academic counseling and Library unit participated in the celebration by presenting the mission and goals as well as the achievement and impact of these units on the college community.

It was a real College Celebration for All CONJ Community and Mostly for Our Students. Appreciation Certificates Were Afforded to All Participants and Representatives for Their Excellent Contribution to The Success of This Celebration.

Gulf Nursing Day, 2020: “Nursing Leading Voice – Nursing the World to Health”.

Under the auspice of the dean Dr/ Tagwa Omer, College of Nursing –Jeddah Celebrated with Gulf Nursing Day on Wednesday 4 March, 2020 with the organization of Alumni Relations Unit.

The event theme was “Nursing Leading Voice – Nursing the World to Health”. The aim of the event is for shedding light on the achievements accomplished of nurses and efforts exerted in the nursing field and upgrading the profession of nursing in the different health establishments of the country. With the participation of more than 200 people including external visitors, college graduates, hospital representative, nursing students in addition to CONJ community. Many hospitals were participated in career opportunities and advancement corners including: King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Saudi German hospital, Security Forces Hospital – Makkah, International Medical Centre, Jeddah Dialysis Center, National Guard Hospital. The celebration program started with introduction about Gulf Nursing Day and the main goal of this celebration presented by Alumni Unit Coordinator Dr Ebtsam Abou Hashish, followed by the college dean’s speech Dr Tagwa Omer about the unique role of nurses in Saudi Arabia and the importance of celebration of nurse’ contributions s in all nursing fields. It was a very interesting and interactive discussion with the attendees.
