Services


Library services provide timely access to library resources in support to the academic programs envisioned for the College of Nursing.

The library provides two types of services:

Direct services:
  • Charge out.
  • Train users to use the library and its various sources.
  • Internet services.
    • Research on the Web.
    • Research in specialized databases.
  • Service References.
  • Instruction and orientation service.
  • New arrival Books and Journals. 

Indirect services:

The library facilitates access to information in all forms in various categories such as:

  • Binding & Bindery preparation.
  • Cataloging and classification section.
  • Acquisitions section.

Library Orientation

To promote maximum utilization of the library resources, facilities, services as well as rules and regulations, the library offers a guided library orientation for new students. This is conducted at the beginning of every semester.

Circulation Services

Circulation books (textbooks, fiction and general reading books) are loaned for requests made in person. Students are entitled to draw out two (2) books at any time. Circulation books are loaned out for one (1) week and renewable if not in-demand. Failure to return the book on due date means a fine of 2 SAR per day.

Photocopying Services

Facilities for making copies of library materials are available. Students are allowed to photocopy pages of the book only in the library Students must take Photocopying access card which are available in the students affairs Dept.

Purchasing Textbook Services for students

The College of Nursing Library facilitates the outsourcing for outside vendors to conduct Bookfair for the College. The students can avail discounts for original copies in the market.

Current Awareness Services

New Acquisitions are disseminated regularly to students and faculty members. As part of current awareness services, the library mounts a display of information materials on topics of current interest or events for the information of the school community.

Internet Services

The Internet facility is strictly for research purposes only. Internet access in the library supplements the print and non-print collections of the library. Researched materials are allowed to be printed with minimum of ten pages with one copy only.

Reference and Information Services

This service aims to satisfy all reasonable requests for information through the use of library resources, the Internet and inter-library loans. The library provides reference and information services during the library hours. Inquiries may be made in person, over the telephone, and through e-mail. Direct instruction and assistance are also given to students and faculty members regarding the use of Digital Library Services. 

Instructional Media Services

The library houses a collection of audiovisual materials such as Videocassettes, DVD, CD-ROMs, Cassette tapes and other non-print materials.
